Your company profile lives at Settings → Business. Everything you enter here flows into your invoices, your VAT submissions and any forms we generate on your behalf, so it's worth getting right once.
The fields that matter
- Business name — appears on invoices and on the cover of any HMRC submission. Use the trading name your customers know.
- Address — registered office for limited companies, home or trading address for sole traders. Required on every UK invoice over £250.
- Companies House number — only for limited companies. Pulled into the iXBRL accounts and CT600 forms when you file annual accounts.
- VAT number — fill this in once you're VAT-registered. Until you do, invoices won't show VAT lines and the VAT module stays hidden in the nav.
- Bank details — sort code + account number. We print these in the footer of every PDF invoice so customers can pay you by transfer.
Logo and invoice template
Drop a logo at Settings → Invoicing and pick a template. The logo appears top-right on every PDF invoice and on the hosted payment link customers see when you email them an invoice.
When to revisit
- The day you become VAT-registered — add the VAT number so VAT-rated invoices work.
- If you move office — update the address before your next quarter.
- Annual accounts time — double-check the Companies House number matches what's on file at CH.
