Welcome to AccountantUK — your first 10 minutes

A quick tour of what the app does and the three things to set up before you start using it day-to-day.

AccountantUK is built to make UK tax obligations stop feeling like a chore. You snap a receipt, the AI extracts the vendor and amount, and your tax bill updates live on the dashboard. Invoices, payroll, VAT and MTD all flow from the same place — no spreadsheets and no second piece of software.

The three things to do first

  1. Set up your company profile — your business name, address and (if you have one) VAT number. This appears on every invoice and on anything we send to HMRC. Open it from Settings → Business.
  2. Scan your first receipt — go to Scanner in the top nav, drop a photo or PDF, and watch the AI extract the line items. Save and it's logged as an expense.
  3. Decide if you want an accountant on the account — you can invite your own from My accountant. They get read-only access by default; you control what they can do.

That's it for the essentials. Everything else — invoicing, VAT, payroll — is in the Books and Tax menus in the top nav.

Where to get help

  • This help centre — search any page or browse the topics on the left.
  • Support in the top nav opens an in-app ticket. You can route it to the platform team or, if you have an accountant on the account, to them directly.
